Under Stone / Into Stone

Once I was buried under the rubble

of my past,

buried in the deepest darkness,

without hope or feeling.

Then there was you:

you breathed life into my my poor soul,

you gave feeling back to my limbs,

re-awakened passion.

Light flooded into my life;

I relearned happiness and also pain;

but always there was you.

You were my joy,

you were my passion,

my friend and confidante;

you were my reason.

my reason

In an instant all that has flown

and I am turning back to stone.

There is nothing anymore

I am nothing:

once heart and flesh and bone,

now only stone.

Strangely, I find

even stone has pain.
